Q1 Financial Update

Hi Church!

Thank you so much for your generosity. As we pray, serve, and give into the vision that God has given us as a family, we believe that wise stewardship and transparency are vital. Here's an update on the church finances for this quarter, as well as an explanation of where your tithes and offerings have been used.

COVID-19 Initiatives

Since the start of lockdown we have invested as a church into three initiatives to respond to the COVID-19 situation and support vulnerable families and individuals in the local community:

Groceries
Tesco Vouchers
Gift Baskets

Each of these has aimed to serve, bless, and support different demographics throughout this difficult season.

Groceries

In April we launched an appeal to the church to donate or sponsor groceries for families. In addition, a stall was set up outside 27 Seaforth Avenue and letters were posted around houses in local streets (mainly Seaforth Avenue) explaining this church initiative along with an invitation to get involved.

£806 given to groceries including gift aid
£781 has been spent so far on groceries so far
40 food parcels given out (This includes donations from the community).


We have partnered with Sacred Heart School (a local Catholic school) to distribute the groceries. As well as this other schools passed on our details to local families who are vulnerable and we have delivered groceries straight to homes.

Tesco Vouchers

£250 worth of Tesco vouchers have been given to assist vulnerable families and individuals in their own grocery shopping.

Gift Baskets

16 gift baskets were given out by the church to nurses, doctors, and admin staff at a local GP practice. These baskets included a thank you card with a link to the services on Sunday, a Lighthouse business card and some encouraging Bible verses.

Our regular tithe income helps us to plan ahead for the future of the church. It enables us to make concrete plans for how to expand the church and impact more people for the kingdom.

We believe that giving also unlocks something in our own lives. We can release any hold that wealth has on our lives and honour God with our firstfruits.
